Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Materials Manager to oversee our company's inventory and supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring timely delivery of products, and optimizing inventory levels to meet production demands.
Duties:
- Develop and implement strategies for procurement, production planning, and inventory control.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and monitor performance.
- Utilize demand planning techniques to forecast material needs and prevent shortages.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste.
- Oversee the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Manage logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule material deliveries and support production schedules.
- Evaluate supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in materials management, supply chain operations, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems, inventory control, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems to manage inventory and track materials flow.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain processes.
